MSRDC continues to work on behalf of our members to build new relationships, and ultimately contracts, with new potential federal agencies. We do this by creating relationships with key representatives of federal agencies and emphasizing the value and caliber of work our member institutions possess.

MSRDC in Partnership with Department of Energy: Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) - Congressional Workforce Development Solicitation

Status: Accepting Applications

This workforce development research opportunity is congressionally funded and stipulates that applicants partner directly with HBCU and MSI Universities and their students to expand the knowledge base in Department of Energy: Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) research and development goals while providing professional development and mentoring to the partner universities.

US Department of Energy Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Capstone Research Fellowship

Status: Stage 1 submissions completed

DOE-AMMTO seeks to expand partnerships between US Minority Serving Institutions and Manufacturing Institutes (MFI) via research-intensive student capstone projects. 

US Department of Energy Water Power Technologies Office: Seed Grants for Research in Marine Renewable Energy and Hydropower

Status: Stage 1 submissions completed

The Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO) supports research, development, demonstration, and the commercial application (RDD&CA) of marine renewable energy and hydropower technologies that expand and diversify the nation’s clean energy portfolio. 

Office of Naval Research

Status: Funded

The 321MS team supports fundamental research that changes the sensor design constraint space. Traditional sensor systems typically begin as open-ended instrumentation devices, where the primary emphasis is on maximizing the amount of data that can be collected. Signal processing and communication are generally secondary considerations which are often addressed on an ad hoc, case by case basis.
