An introductory workshop for small business owners in the Washington Metropolitan Area on how to compete for and win federal contracts. Guest speaker Bob Hoffman, President of RJH Supply, has over 10 years of experience working directly with government procurement staff at agencies including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). Bob will cover the following topics:

  • Understanding the mindset of federal procurement staff
  • How to promote yourself and your business effectively, including:
    • Elevator Pitch
    • Capability Statement
    • Past Performance
  • The why and how of pursuing SBA set-aside certifications
  • Deciphering the lingo: RFPs, RFIs, RFQs and much more!

Please arrive  30 minutes early  to ensure you get through security on time. We will start promptly at 10:00 AM to make the most of our limited schedule.

You MUST bring with you a valid, government-issued photo ID in order to proceed beyond the security checkpoint.

Taking public transportation is highly recommended, as street and garage parking can be challenging to find.  The SBA Headquarters building is directly above the Federal Center Southwest Metro Station (along the Blue/Orange/Silver lines).

Please note: The temporary entrance to the building is located along D St SW.
