MSRDC invites you to review the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) latest funding opportunity which will be awarding up to $12 million in federal funding to support the extraction and conversion of lithium from geothermal brines to use in batteries for stationary storage and electric vehicles.

This funding opportunity will advance technologies to extract and convert lithium from geothermal brines, which can help the United States secure a cost-effective domestic source of lithium for use in batteries for stationary storage and electric vehicles. This research directly impacts Administration goals for net-zero carbon by 2050, U.S. electric vehicle adoption, as well as the domestic supply chain.
