02/04/2019 12:28 PM

Given the projected demographic profile of the U.S., the educational outcomes and STEM readiness of students of color will have direct implications for America’s economic growth, national security, and global prosperity.

On Feb. 6, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will hold a convocation to explore how to implement the recommendations in the recently released report Minority Serving Institutions: America’s Underutilized Resource for Strengthening the STEM Workforce, which identifies promising strategies to support the long-term success of the millions of students in STEM at MSIs nationwide.

At this convocation, MSI leaders, researchers, policymakers, and representatives from private foundations and industry will explore cross-sector initiatives that can promote change and lasting success for MSI students.
