Dr. Joseph Corriveau, Director of ECBC in Aberdeen, MD set aside time in his busy schedule to meet with Mr. Clarence Johnson, Director of Diversity Management & Equal Opportunity at the Pentagon to share his commitment to advancing science and technology opportunities for HBCU's and MSI's.
"I am wholly committed to this program and excited about the possibilities, " said Dr. Corriveau. The purpose of the meeting was to share the benefits of the program and to enlist other Defense organizations to partner with ECBC as sponsors of research and development opportunities. Mr. Johnson added, "this program addresses several Presidential Executive Orders…"
The Department of Defense has been looking at various ways to engage MSI's including the "Pentagon to the People" program where senior officials share opportunities to work with MSI's. "We visited Tuskegee University, Morgan State University and University of Texas San Antonio recently and several neighboring MSI's also attended the meeting. All expressed a deeper desire to work more closely with DoD. I think the MSRDC is a great opportunity…" he added.
