MSRDC conducted a survey at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities National Capitol Forum to assess interest and value of Consortiums that are focused on STEM Research & Development (R&D) projects in the Federal Government.

83% of those surveyed agreed that participating in a Consortium where they could lead STEM R&D projects would be of value to their institution. However, almost 40% rated their institutions' expertise in securing Federal and Defense STEM R&D funding as Average. Additionally, only 55% indicated that their institution had a strategy for increasing federally funded STEM R&D.

Representatives from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX and Vaughn College in Flushing, NY commented that their institutions have expanded their R&D capabilities through other consortiums and recognize the value of the MSRDC. Dr. Agnes Mojica, Chancellor of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, San German Campus stated, “I'm familiar with HSIs already involved and eager to learn how my campus can participate.”
