Project Summary:
Clark Atlanta University will leverage its existing capacities in Visualization, Simulation and Design of Complex Engineering problems. CAU also have the Center for Alternative, Renewable Energy, Technology and Training (CARET2 ), to reduce the energy burden in low-income communities in the City of Atlanta, the highest energy burdens in low-income communities in the U.S. through retrofitting 3,500 LMI homes in cooperation with Georgia Power and other community stakeholders to develop a green workforce.
Outcome:
The project outputs are: 1. A Report summarizing utility of and gaps in MAEA resources for energy-efficiency program development and implementation, 2. A Report summarizing analysis performed and flexible upgrade package identified for City of Atlanta weatherization program, and 3. A Report summarizing analysis and recommendations for follow-on City of Atlanta and/or Georgia Power programs.
